The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition is making it’s way to DSiware and the Nintendo 3DS eShop tomorrow. Considering it’s free, it’s supports up to four players, it has new levels, and it’s Zelda, I’m pretty excited. Read Kotaku’s preview here to get your mouth watering (if it isn’t already!)

Nintendo E3 2011: 3DS News

June 10, 2011

Nintendo showed huge support for the 3DS at this years E3 with tons of fantastic first party titles, 4 of which are Mario games! I’ll do full posts on most of these later.

The Tanooki suit is back and it’s coming this holiday! I hope we see some flying action soon though. Looks incredibly fun. Love the possibility of 3D effects.

Just watch the trailer. More of what we’ve come to love plus so much more. Being an Animal Crossing fan you notice so many new things in this trailer. I can’t wait.

Luigi is back and he’s gonna fight some ghosts early-ish next year! This trailer looks particularly pretty (although I’ve heard the frame rates on the demos are, at the moment, slow). I really want to see this in 3D!

Star Fox 64 3D looks stelar. The multiplayer looks especially compelling. The release date (strangely enough) is September 11th of this year.

Kid Icarus: Uprising was shown with some incredible looking multiplayer at E3 this year. It looks to be quite fun (although I’ve heard the control scheme to be a little awkward). It is coming this holiday season.

Also The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is coming on the 19th of this month. It will be a good chance for many to pick up this beloved classic.

Paper Mario just looks like it would be a joy to view. The new popup book style is very compelling. The release date is TBA currently.

Overall, Mario Kart 3D’s trailer looked the best to me. Just watch it to see all the new fun things you’ll be doing if you get it this holiday season.

Yes, this holiday is going to be filled with excellent 3DS games. This is quite the list from all worlds of Nintendo. Which game looks the best to you?

Nintendo E3 2011: Wii News

June 8, 2011

The Wii actually got some expansive support at E3 this year with 7 note worthy games, 3 of which were reveals.

Kirby Wii was not really revealed at E3, but it was shown and confirmed with this trailer. It brings back more traditional Kirby gameplay with Kirby’s copy ability and 2D platforming. It also going 4 player in a New Super Mario Bros. Wii Style. It will be released this Fall.

The most surprising Wii game reveal, Fortune Street, is a Monopoly-like Japan game series by Square Enix where you play as Mario and Dragon Quest characters. The board game like gameplay involves managing a stock market while buying up stores and charging people rent. It will be released this holiday season.

Mario Party 9 looks to bring more Mario partying to the Wii. It looks like a Mario Party game, what else is there to say? It currently has a TBA release date.

Rhythm Heaven is also on the way. It looks like it could be entertaining. Also with a TBA release.

Last, but certainly not least, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword got a new trailer and a holiday release.

We also heard about Wii Play Motion and Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, but these were already shown heavily before E3.

Of course, this is not including Wii-U info, I’ll save that for another post.

Nintendo E3 2011: DS News

June 8, 2011

DS support was sparse this E3, but we still got 3 good announcements.

Kirby Mass Attack (known as Atsumete! Kirby in Japan) was announced and dated at E3 this year. Kirby Mass Attack focuses on controlling multiple Kirbys at once. It looks fun and will be released September 19th.

Professor Layton and the Last Spector was also announced at E3. This Layton adventure is a prequel to the series set 3 years before the Curious Village. It brings back what you’ve come to expect from a Layton game, hard puzzles and great cut scenes. Although the release date is TBA, it should arrive soon.

Lastly, to celebrate Zelda’s 25th anniversary, it was announced that Zelda: Four Swords will be coming free to the DSi shop this September. Not much is known, except for the fact it will feature multiplayer. It’s nice to see things coming free to Nintendo’s virtual stores.

That’s it for the DS announcements, some good stuff in there to prove that the DS isn’t done yet.

IGN Speaks of More Nintendo E3 Events

June 3, 2011

IGN made the following comment in there believe in Nintendo post earlier today.

…expect to hear news outside of the press conference. Not only in the form of impressions, videos and a few interviews, but I would make sure you’re checking the IGN Nintendo sites on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. I will have live blogs fired up. Just saying.

So after you watch Nintendo’s press conference, don’t believe that you’ve seen everything until Wednesday has passed.

E3 Less than a Week Away

June 2, 2011

20110510-123757.jpg
With E3 just around the corner and Nintendo’s sure to be great press conference on the 7th (they are set to reveal a new console), I figured I’d give you a quick reference guide of where to go and what to expect.

Where and When

Nintendo’s E3 press conference begins at 7:15 a.m. Pacific Time on June 7th.

First off if you want to watch the press conference in it’s entirety, than there are two really good ways. You can watch E3 live on the channel G4, but Directv dropped G4. If you have Directv and can’t watch it on your big TV screen, then go to plan B, watch the live or recorded stream on Nintendo’s website.

If your internet is so bad that you can’t play video or you just don’t want to, you can read GoNintendo, ONM, Joystiq, or IGN‘s live blog. All are high quality and instant.

If just want to see clips and trailers, Nintendo will post them on there site along with some exclusive content (last year Nintendo revealed Mario Kart 3D, Paper Mario 3D, Animal Crossing 3D and more on there site). Also (if you have a Wii) you can watch all the good clips on the Nintendo Channel (they might also have the whole thing after the live stream, but I’m not sure).

Of course I’ll also do a bunch of posts about E3 after the fact with info and my opinions. Also I’ll definitely do a round up post with all the info.

Now, here is a list of what you can expect from Nintendo’s press conference.

Project Cafe

Nintendo has confirmed that they are announcing their new console, Project Cafe, at this years E3. The console is said to be more or as powerful as the Xbox 360 and PS3. The controller is supposed to be similar to the Gamecube’s but with a touch screen in the middle.

Obviously there will be some games shown for it, but none are known currently (that kind of adds to the fun). It has been rumored though that Grand Theft Auto 5, Pikmin 3, and a sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns are coming.

Super Mario 3DS

20110422-021929.jpg

Miyamoto has said that Super Mario 3DS will be across between Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Bros. 3. All that’s known so far is a few brief comments and these 5 images released at GDC. Note the raccoon tail on the logo which clearly points out the return of the raccoon suit from Super Mario Bros. 3.

3DS eShop

MM_Screenshot04.jpg

With the eShop launching on the night of the 6th (the day before the press conference) we can expect announcements of eShop games and apps. We know that Mutant Mudds is coming, as well as a list of virtual console titles, but I still want a list of fantastic new games to really sell me.

Other 3DS Games

Although Nintendo has not said for certain, it’s kind of a given that we’ll hear more about Mario Kart 3D, Paper Mario 3D, Animal Crossing 3D, and Kid Icarus: Uprising, all of which should be awesome. There is sure to be many surprises and many new announcements at E3.

Wii Games

We will probably hear a lot more about The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword. Hopefully, we will also see announcements for other new Wii games while we wait for Project Cafe. Also if the Vitality sensor isn’t mentioned at this E3, it is probably nonexistent.

DS Games

We will hopefully learn of a Atsumete! Kirby localization and hopefully see more support for the DS before it’s phased out by the 3DS.

Well I hope this gets you prepared for E3 this year.
